Naga lads in the finals of MMA Gamma Open National Championships
Dimapur, March 25 (EMN): Four Naga lads are participating in the Global Association for Mixed Martial Arts India Gamma Open National Championships being held at Fiton Sports in Bengaluru from March 23 to the 26th. Players from this tournament will be selected for the team that would represent India at the Gamma Asian Championships to be held in Kyrgyzstan in July.
Kekhrieneitso Angami, Limasunep Imchen, Arsenba Ozukum and Mairidin Newmai from The Combat Academy in Dimapur are taking part in this tournament, an update informed.
Limasunep Imchen in the bantamweight 61.2kgs category won his first bout but came up short in the quarterfinals against Aaquib Javed from Karnataka.
Kekhrieneitso Angami in the lightweight 70.3kgs category won three fights on route to the finals where he will face Sumit Bhyan from Maharashtra.
Arsenba Ozukum in the flyweight 56.7kgs category won two bouts and will be facing Adinath Barde from Maharastra in the finals on Friday
Mairidin Newmai in the featherweight 65.8kgs category won his three fights and will be facing Laishram Chourajit Singh of Manipur in the finals.
