Nagaland has 16,893 beneficiaries under AB-PMJAY

Dimapur, Feb. 9 (EMN): As on February 4, around 16,893 hospital admissions worth INR 23.2 crore have been authorised through a network of empanelled healthcare providers under Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri- Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) in Nagaland.
This was stated by the Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, Ashwini Kumar Choubey, in a written reply in Rajya Sabha on Tuesday, a PIB report informed.
The report stated that an approximately 1.59 crore hospital admissions worth INR 19,714 crore have been authorised through a network of 24,321 empanelled healthcare providers under AB-PMJAY nationwide. It added that AB-PMJAY provides health assurance cover of up to INR 5 lakh per year per family for secondary and tertiary healthcare hospitalisations.
The beneficiary families have been identified on the basis of select deprivation and occupational criteria in rural and urban areas respectively as per SECC 2011 database. And this covers approximately 10.74 crore families, the report stated.
It also stated that the states and union territories implementing AB-PMJAY have extended the coverage of the scheme to 13.17 crore families which is around 65 crore people.
