Temjen Toy’s demise: Market down shutters in Mokokchung

Mokokchung, Jan. 29 (EMN): Mokokchung town wore a deserted look as all the business establishments downed their shutters in order to pay the last respects in the passing away of the state chief secretary, Temjen Toy, in Kohima on January 28.

All business establishments in Mokokchung had down shutters as a mark to honour the passing away of Temjen Toy in the whole of Ao areas on Friday. The closure of business establishments was initiated following the directive of the Ao Senden.

All business establishments had down shutters, while all the government offices, schools and education institutes remained closed in paying homage to the deceased bureaucrat.

A formal service for the departed leader was also observed at Ao Senden’s office in Mokokchung, where leaders from Ao Senden, Watsu Mungdang and Ao Students’ Conference spoke on the occasion. Various speakers have eulogised Temjen Toy for his commendable services rendered towards the welfare and development of the state.
