Zunheboto holds AB-PMJAY review meeting

Dimapur, Dec. 3 (EMN) : Zunheboto district held a review meeting on Ayushman Bharat- Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) health scheme in the office of the chief medical officer (CMO), Zunheboto, on December 3.

Addressing the members, the deputy commissioner of Zunheboto Peter Lichamo encouraged them to put more effort to ensure smooth implementation of the scheme and to improve the performance in the district. He urged the officials to motivate the healthcare workers to enable them work with mental satisfaction in helping the needy, an update from CMO’s office stated.

Delivering the welcome address, deputy CMO and AB-PMJAY nodal officer Dr. K Akaho Sema, highlighted the activities undertaken in the district and encouraged the member to actively participate to improve the performance of the district. He informed that AB-PMJAY is the largest insurance scheme finance by the government which provides cashless service for the beneficiary at the point of service in the hospital.

He also encouraged the healthcare workers to work with dedication and sincerity and not let the poor patients deprived of the benefits.

Vibo P Jakha, AB-PMJAY district co-ordinator, delivered an awareness talk and made a power point presentation on Ayushman Bharat and its key features.

Kipito L Achumi, PMAM of District Hospital Zunheboto, has briefed on the district-wise number of individual card issued, scheme status and empanelled healthcare provider (EHEP) performance.

During the meeting, the house discussed on poor connectivity and lack of awareness of the scheme for non-compliance from the public especially in remote areas, which is hampering the smooth implementation of the programme. The members also apprised the concerned authority to impart reorientation training for the stakeholders in the district for smooth and successful implementation of the programme.

To disseminate awareness of the scheme and to improve the beneficiary’s e-card generation at the grassroots, the house decided to issue directive to village council chairmen/ colony chairmen to actively involve and co-ordinate with the healthcare staff.
