Dimapur, Nov. 28 (EMN): Peren district conducted a review meeting of Ayushman Bharat- Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) health scheme in the conference hall of the deputy commissioner’s office, Peren, on November 26 under the chairmanship of the DC, Peren, Sentiwapang Aier.

An update from the office of the chief medical officer (CMO), Peren, stated that the deputy CMO and AB-PMJAY district nodal officer Dr. Lanuakum had highlighted the activities conducted in the district. He also encouraged the members to actively participate to improve the performance of the district.

It also stated that Kehiemalungle, AB-PMJAY district coordinator, made a power point presentation on Ayushman Bharat and its key features. She stated that AB-PMJAY is the largest insurance scheme finance by the government which provides cashless access to healthcare services for the beneficiary. She also briefed about the district-wise number of individual cards issued and empanelled healthcare provider (EHEP) performances.

During the meeting, the house discussed on poor connectivity and lack of awareness of the scheme for non-compliance from the public especially in remote areas which hampers the smooth implementation of the programme. The members also decided to apprise the concerned authority to impart reorientation training for the stakeholders in the district for smooth and successful implementation of the programme.

To disseminate awareness of the scheme and to improve the beneficiary’s e-card generation at the grassroots, the members urged the administration to issue directive to village council chairmen/ colony chairmen for their actively involvement and coordination with the healthcare staff.

In conclusion, the DC Peren Sentiwapang Aier encouraged the members to put in more efforts to ensure smooth implementation of the project and to improve its performance in the district.

In a similar programme, Wokha district also held a review meeting on AB-PMJAY in the conference hall of the deputy commissioner’s office on November 27.

An update from the CMO office stated that its deputy CMO and district nodal officer Dr. Zuben Kikon made a powerpoint presentation on the current performance and status of BIS and EHCPs under Wokha district. While pointing out the constraints of BIS, claim settlements and remedial measures, Kikon assured to intensify BIS drive by December 2020 in order to generate more golden cards.

Also speaking on the occasion, the deputy commissioner of Wokha Orenthung Lotha advised the Mitras to set a target in their respective blocks and also maintain a calendar of activities to carry out BIS drive.

The DC also highlighted the need to conduct awareness programme in rural and urban areas pertaining to the AB-PMJAY scheme.

Dr. Wobemo Yanthan, nodal officer of District Hospital Wokha, informed that there is no separate provision of incentive for PMAMs. He added that since they are engaged in office works, they were unable to give more time for PMJAY activities.

The meeting concluded with highlighting on the distribution of BIS and claim samples to four EHCP namely District Hospital Wokha, PHC Chukitong, Sanis and Bhandari community centres by the district co-ordinator Kidan Ovung.
