‘Protect Dimapur Covid-19’ campaign second phase launched
Dimapur, Sep. 11 (EMN): The second phase of ‘Protect Dimapur Covid-19’ campaign initiated by several Dimapur-based NGOs was launched on Friday at the deputy commissioner’s (DC) conference hall, in the presence of the DC, additional deputy commissioner and chief medical officer, a DIPR update informed.
Addressing the gathering, DC Rajesh Soundararajan acknowledged the team for their voluntary service in helping the district administration in different ways during the pandemic.
He said that the Covid-19 case has come down because of collective efforts and enforcement of standard operating procedure (SOP) at present is much needed. He requested the volunteers to carry out the assigned work in more professional and in a polite manner.
While addressing the volunteers, the convenor of the campaign, pastor of the Lotha Baptist Church Dimapur, Yanbemo Ovung, informed that the campaign will be carried out on alternate days for two weeks starting from September 14. He maintained that the campaign is to let the public, shops and vendors in market places in and around Dimapur to follow SOP.
