Dimapur, July 19 (EMN): Observing many loopholes in the recruitment terms and conditions issued recently by the principal director of Health and Family Welfare, the Nagaland Voluntary Consumers’ Organisation (NVCO) has deemed it ‘fit for cancellation.’
NVCO, in a statement issued on Sunday, raised strong objection for not mentioning the criteria ‘meant for indigenous inhabitants only’ within the terms and conditions of recruitment especially for the posts of technicians and staff nurse (permanent posts). NVCO claimed that it amounted to inviting outsiders to participate in the state department recruitment. It questioned the department for ‘playing with the lives of a few hundred educated unemployed indigenous Naga youth.’
It advised the department to know that those posts are only meant for Naga indigenous inhabitants as it is not a centrally sponsored/central department post. The NVCO has also raised strong objection for conducting gazetted class-1 officer posts, which was outside the purview of the department. It has questioned the relevance of the Nagaland Public Service Commission (NPSC) if the state government was to allow such recruitment.
NVCO has asked the department not take advantage of the situation and ‘commit such blunder.’ It also asked the department not to play with recruitment in such manner as it would ‘spoil the career of many qualified Naga candidates especially the junior ones.’
