Senior doctor arrested for molestation in Diphu

Diphu, July 15 (EMN): Senior medical office and ENT specialist of Diphu Medical College and Hospital, Dr. SK Das was arrested on July 14 evening at round 8:30 pm on charges of molesting a woman patient at his private medical chamber in Diphu town.

Diphu police arrested Dr. SK Das from his private practise, Anjali Medical Chamber based on a complaint made by the victim’s family and a case has been registered against him under case no 130/2020 u/s 354, informed officer in-charge of Diphu police station Chiraj Engti.

The matter came to light after the victim narrated about the whole story to newspersons on Tuesday evening. The victim stated that she went for a check-up at the private run clinic near Vishal Mart on July 3, where the doctor directed her to undergo an ultra sound test and to bring back the report.

After three days, the victim visited Dr.SK Das’ chamber to show him the ultra sound reports, where she complained about her neck pain. She told that the doctor, on the pretext of examining her, touched her whole body parts and directed to come again after three days (i.e. July 14).

Following his advice, the patient visited Dr. Das’ chamber and told him about her persistent neck pain. To her surprise, she alleged that Dr.SK Das had touched her private part without putting on hand gloves.
