Dimapur, July 14 (EMN): National People’s Party (NPP) has unanimously resolved to voice against discrimination faced by citizens from the Northeast region in various parts of the country based on race, culture, region and religion, while it also resolved to work towards national integration and respect for one another.

The resolution to this effect was taken during its first digital conclave of the party via video conferencing on July 11. During the conclave, the party reaffirmed ‘unity in diversity’ basing on the spirit of the founding fathers of the nation.

NPP Nagaland, in a statement issued on Tuesday, stated that Nagaland team was led by its president, Dr. Andrew Ahoto Sema.

The conclave was convened by its national president and Chief Minister of Meghalaya, Conrad K Sangma from the party’s headquarters at Shillong and attended by various central executive committee members including its national general secretary (organisation) Thomas A Sangma, national general secretary (finance) James K Sangma, national general secretary (political affairs) Mutchu Mithi, national secretary (organisation) Dr.

Lalrintluanga Jahau, national secretary (in-charge of Nagaland and Mizoram) Paknga Bage, national secretary (in-charge of Assam) Vivek Raj Wangkhem, and all officials from the state units led by the respective state presidents.

The release also stated that all the officials and members from various state units of the party congratulated the NPP Meghalaya state president, Dr. WR Kharlukhi on winning the lone Rajya Sabha seat.
NPP Nagaland has expressed support to Dr. WR Kharlukhi and hoped that his victory would bring about a new era for people’s representation from the Northeast, which has been neglected and sidelined for decades by subsequent governments at the centre, it added.
