Manipur honours four personalities with MACR Child Rights Awards

Imphal, Oct. 5 (EMN): Four personalities working in the fields of journalism, juvenile justice, education, combating drugs and alcoholism, with extraordinary efforts and commitment were honoured with the Manipur Alliance for Child Rights (MACR) Child Rights Awards 2019.
The awards were distributed during the 10th State-Level Children’s Cultural Meet 2019, held on the theme “Break the Silence, End Child Sexual abuse; Let’s Make a Child Friendly Manipur,” in Imphal on Saturday.
The award winners were Imphal Times Editor Rinku Khumukcham, Child Welfare Committee (Imphal West) Chairperson Thiyam Rajkishore, Additional Superintendent of Police Narcotics and Affairs of Borders (NAB) Thounaojam Brinda, and Zonal Education Officer (Zone-III Thoubal) Arambam Anilkumar.
The titular king of Manipur Leishemba Sanajaoba, former chairperson S Saratkumar Sharma of Manipur Commission for Protection of Child Rights and Associate General Manager Ashim Kumar Ghosh of Child Rights and You (CRY) of Kolkata also attended the programme.
Indigenous dances, folk songs, music, martial arts and short plays were the children from different districts.
