LLRPO says no foot hill road, then no oil & gas business

The Lower Lotha Range Public Organisation (LLRPO) has cautioned any diversion on FHR or failure on the of the state government to construct the road, it will be compelled to resort to an indefinite banndh with the slogan, ‘No foot hill road no oil & gas’ business within its jurisdiction. The decision was taken during an emergency general meeting on August 1 at Bhandari.
It has also resolved not to claim any compensation in the Foot Hill Road construction considering immediate necessity of the Naga people living in the foothills and also appealed the state government to expedite the works at the earliest.
In a press note LLRPO president, Yingashumo Kithan and general secretary, Chenirao Jami said ten tribal hohos has endorsed the Foot Hill Road Co-ordination Committee (FHRCC) for the road alignment and submitted to the PWD (R&B) Nagaland on August 8 and therefore, it will not accept any other alternative road alignment, except the one submitted by ten tribes.
The LLRPO has also after consultative meeting with the Ralan Area Lotha Hoho, demanded for construction of the Doyang Bridge missing link at Governors Camp at Liphayan village. It maintained that in case any diversion on FHR alignment it will jeopardize the whole system and will not serve the purpose of the affected foot hill Naga people.
