A one-day workshop on “Legal Literacy Awareness and Paralegal Training” organized by the by Alder College Alumni Association (AAA) in collaboration with the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Kohima was held today at the college premises today.Resource person Mayanglima, Registrar Guwahati High Court, Kohima Bench and Member secretary, Nagaland Legal Services Authority briefed on the Basic Legal Rights to the students.He further informed that the Legal Services Authority was set up to make the people aware of their legal rights as well as the fundamental rights and duties.
Earlier, Panel Lawyers V. Ashu Theyo and Joshua Shequi stressed on the topics “Basic Rights in reference to Juvenile Justice Act the Rights if arrested” and “RTI and Consumer’s Rights” while Alemwapang highlighted on the importance and the duties of the “Paralegal Volunteers”.
The programme was chaired by president, AAA James Yalie, Principal Alder College Vekhozo Khamo delivered the welcome address while the participants were enthralled with a special number by Petezapu Meyase.
