86 stranded people reach Nagaland

Kohima, May 27 (EMN): A total of 86 stranded people arrived in Nagaland on Wednesday. A train from New Delhi ferried 46 passengers while another train from Dibrugarh transported six passengers to Dimapur railway station, according to information received from the control room of the Empowered Committee in Dimapur.

On the same day, a bus from Arunachal Pradesh with 15 people, and four private cars from Assam carrying 17 passengers also reached the commercial hub. A private car from Manipur also arrived at Kohima district with two passengers. 

The source further updated that a train from New Delhi with 57 passengers and another train from Dibrugarh with a passenger will also be reaching Dimapur railway station on Thursday. 

According to an update from minister and state government’s spokespersons on Covid-19 Neiba Kronu, a special train from Jaipur, Rajasthan ‘carrying about 370 stranded persons of Nagaland is reaching Lumding at around 7 am on May 28 and the passengers thereafter will be ferried to Nagaland by buses’.

“Another special train is scheduled to move out from Goa on the 29th of May 2020 carrying about 645 stranded persons of Nagaland along with stranded persons of other North Eastern States. This Train is expected to arrive in Dimapur on the 1st of June 2020,” the update read.
