63rd Northern Angami Sports Association meet commences

 The 63rd Northern Angami Sports Association (Nasa) 2022 began at IG Stadium in Kohima on Tuesday. 

 Altogether, about 500 sportspersons from northern Angami region further dividing themselves into Nasa – A, Nasa – B, Nasa – C and NAsa – D are competing for top honours in different disciplines.

 Abu Metha, advisor to Chief Minister of Nagaland and Vice President of Athletics Federation of India attended the meet as the guest of honour.

 In the men’s and women’s 400m race, NASA – A dominated the game conducted during the day.

 Keneitseizo Belho with 54.43 sec (new record) emerged as the champion while Dziesezotuo Rutsa won second position at 54.46 sec (new record) while Petevilie Rame secured the third position with 57.63 sec. 

  Rüduolhounuo Belho with 1:08.09 sec (new record), Kelhouneinuo Rutsa (1:12.22 sec) and Pelekhonuo Mepfhüo 1:13.06 sec won first, second and third positions respectively. 

 All the six players represented Nasa-A.

 Nasa-A also won both the men’s and women’s 1500m race.

  Kevise Belho won the first position with 4:42.37 min (new record) while Thejakhrielie Mechülho (4:44.16 min) and Lhouvisalie Mere (4:45.28 min) secured second and third respectively.

  Khriezelhounuo Keyho came in first position with 5:53.94 min while Ruokuosanuo Kire (5:55.56 min) and Dziesekuonuo Linyü (5:57.91 min) won first and second position. 

 All the players in both the categories represented Nasa-A.

 Nasa-A also swept all the titles in both men’s and women’s triple jump. Kevirüduo Dzüviüch won first position at 12.40m  (new record), while Mhasiletuo Yhome came in second with  12.23m (new record) and Keneinguzo Sote  secured third at 11.94m.

 In the women’s category, Dziesengunuo Solo won the first position (9.64m) while Akhrienuo Linyü secured second (9.13m) and Pelekhonuo Mepfhüo (8.52m) secured third. All the six jumpers are from Nasa-A.

In men’s high jump, Keneitseizo Belho (Nasa –A) 1.80m (new record), Keneizelhou Talie (Nasa –B) 1.80m (new record) and Neiketoulie Belho (Nasa –A) 1.75 Metres won first, second and third respectively. 

In men’s javelin throw, Seyievizo Kire (Nasa –A) 42m, Ketoukhriezo Whuorie (Nasa –A) 40.84m and Medosatuo Paünuo (Nasa –B) 39.44m won first, second and third respectively. 

 In women’s long jump, Dziesengunuo Solo (Nasa –A) won first position (4.12m), Neikethonuo Mepfhüo (Nasa –B) secured second position (4.04m) while Pelevonuo Zhale (Nasa –B) fetched third position (3.88m). 

 In women’s discus throw, Kevineinuo Khro (Nasa –C) secured first position (21.62m), Khriesiesanuo Whuorie (Nasa –A) won second position (21.32m) while Alezoü Dzüvichü (Nasa –B) won third (18.58m).

 In 4x400m race (Mix), the first position (4:15.47m) was won by Nasa-A consisting of Dziesezotuo Rütsa, Keneitseizo Belho, Kelhouneinuo Rutsa and Rüduolhounuo Belho. 

 The second position (4.30.81 min) was won by Nasa-B composed of Neihezo Medom, Medophreo Tachü,  Neikethonuo Mepfhüo and Pelevonuo Zhale. 

 At the end of the day, Nasa – A were on top of the medal standings with 25 medals consisting of 10 gold, eight silver and bronze while Nasa-B are in second place with three silver and two bronze. 

 Nasa – C are in third with one bronze while Nasa – D are at the bottom without any medal. 

 The remaining athletics sequence will follow while volleyball will commence at IG Stadium on Wednesday.
