Kohima, Jan. 22 (EMN):
As many as 256 healthcare workers received Covid-19 vaccine during the inoculation drive carried out at seven sites on Friday.

Next Covid-19 vaccination drive will resume on Monday, January 25.

State Immunisation Officer, Directorate of Health and Family Welfare, Dr. Ritu Thurr, informed that the vaccination drive was conducted in the district with special permission from the state government.

The jab was administered to the healthcare workers without any adverse events, he added.

Till date, 4480 healthcare workers from across Nagaland have been vaccinated with Covid-19 vaccine.

The ministry of Health and Family Welfare had allocated first three days of the week (Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday) for Covid-19 vaccination drive in the state to ensure that normal routine immunisation and other essentials services are not hampered.

Thurr reiterated that the Covishield vaccine manufactured by Serum Institute of India has gone through all phases of clinical trials and has been found safe for use in general population.

More than 10 lakh healthcare workers have been vaccinated for Covid-19 across India in the last six days.
