Dimapur, Oct. 15 (EMN): A total of 25 forest guards have successfully undergone a six-month training at State Environment and Forestry Training Institute (SEFTI) in Dimapur. The convocation of the 42nd batch forest guards was held on October 11 at the institute in Signal Bosti, Dimapur.
An update from SEFTI stated that Dharmendra Prakash, principal chief conservator of Forests and head of forest force, graced the programme as the chief guest and exhorted the trainees to implement what they have learned during the training in the field. He also advised them to adopt schools in their places of posting to disseminate forestry activities to the students.
Reminding that they are the foot soldiers of the department and knew more about what is going on at the ground-level more than the officers, he advised them to always find opportunities to help create good image of the department.
The director of the institute, M Shakiba Yimchunger, delivered an annual convocation address and congratulated the passing out trainees.
Speech on behalf of the passing out trainees was delivered by Imlong Chang, forest guard from Intangki National Park.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Florence Sangtam, range officer from Medziphema and former faculty of the institute.
