11th LFC: Friends Club, Longsa Sports Association enter semi finals

The first quarter final match in progress between Friends Club and Lower ‘E’ Khel in Wokha on Monday.

Dimapur, Feb. 7 (EMN): Tournament favourites Friends Club Wokha Village beat Lower “E” Khel Wokha Village by 3-2 in the first quarter final match of the ongoing 11th Lotha Football Championship, organised by Wokha District Football Association (WDFA) at local ground, Wokha on Monday.

Eshong gave an early lead to Lower “E” Khel by scoring in the 11th and 13th minute but Friends Club made a comeback through the boots of Aloumai and Lironthung, the tournament top scorer in the 34th and 48th minute, an update informed.

Friends Club won the match through an own goal from James Tsanglao in the 77th minute, shattering the hopes of Lower “E” Khel entering the semi finals.

In the second quarter finals match played between Longsa Sports Association (LSA) and Englan Range Football Club, LSA won the match by 3-0. Pur-Sunep netted two goals in the 24th and 79th minute, while Iteababe added one more goal in the 41st minute for Longsa SA.

NRSA will take on Tsumang Football Club in the third quarter final match, while A1 Tsungiki will play against Titans X1 in the last quarter final. Chenithung Kikon, OC Police Station Wokha will be the match patron, it informed.
