Dimapur, Aug. 7 (EMN): Zeliangrong Youth Front (ZYF), Nagaland, has alleged discrepancies in the allocation of land compensation during package-II under National Highway 129A Dimapur-Maram road via Jalukie and Peren involving crores of rupees.
ZYF (N) claimed that the discrepancies were detected through application of Right To Information (RTI) from the administration of Peren district. It added that the anomalies were detected following undertaking proper enquiry on various incriminating evidences such as documentary and photographic images.
It stated that on August 2, 2021, some of the beneficiaries executed declarations/ affidavits relinquishing their title rights and transferred the said land for the construction of two-laning NH129A, while some did not execute the said declaration but were found signed executed without their consent.
It also alleged that some unaffected individuals were found among the beneficiaries for the reason best known to the authority concerned. It stated that 27 beneficiaries were aggrieved by the irregularities, bias, and discrepancy in the payment of compensation.
ZYF (N) alleged that some beneficiaries’ signatures were never attained but forged and some had received lesser amount than the stated amount, while some beneficiaries received more than the actual estimated amount compared to their neighbours.
It also alleged that some unaffected families received compensation, while some unaffected persons, knowingly signed affidavits/ declarations though they don’t own any properties and received compensation.
ZYF (N) also stated that all the anomalies were pointed out for redressal but was totally ignored.
In the light of the above stated circumstances, ZYF (N) through its media cell has urged every erring officer and individual involved in the controversial issue to come forward and rectify the matter in a time bound period.
