Zunheboto observes ‘World Hypertension Day’

DIMAPUR — In pursuance to the directive of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, New Delhi, the Health department of Zunheboto division observed World Hypertension Day on Sunday at Zunheboto Town Lotha Baptist Church by organising an awareness programme on the themes ‘Measure your blood pressure accurately, control it, live longer.’
Speaking at the awareness programme, Dr. Mhonchan N Kithan, district project officer of non-communicable disease (NCD), highlighted on the symptoms and causes of hypertension. He explained on the importance of investigation and the preventive measures to be taken for hypertension.
“Uncontrolled high blood pressure can lead to health complications such as heart failure, stroke, kidney problem and eye problem,” Dr. Kithan said and urged the participants to go for regular blood pressure checkup, conduct more physical activity, decrease intake of salt and avail proper treatment on time.
The programme was attended by pastor and church members.
