Zunheboto board clears June agenda

Zunheboto, June 8: The monthly meeting of the Zunheboto District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) for June was held on June 8 at the DC conference hall in Zunheboto town. Parliamentary Secretary for Soil and Water Conservation, Pukhayi Assumi, the new chairman of the planning board, presided over the meeting. Parliamentary Secretary for IPR, Khekaho Assumi, also attended the meeting.
The chairman encouraged all the heads of departments to remain sincere and ‘support him’ in taking the district forward. He also urged them to attend the DPDB meetings regularly.
Parliamentary Secretary for IPR, Khekaho Assumi , also encouraged the use of PowerPoint presentations in every meeting ‘so as to check the functioning and activities of all departments visually.’
The board reviewed the last meeting and approved the construction of college gate at Zunheboto Government College. Opening of HSLC Examination Centre at Aghunato town, construction of retaining wall between NST and AOC, Zunheboto were also approved during the meeting.Upgradation of Akuluto town from SDO (C) to ADC (HQ) was approved. Construction of Multi Purpose Hall cum Cultural Complex at Zunheboto was also discussed and decided to forward to the concerned department for approval.
Superintendent of Police, Zunheboto, Krodi Rhetso spoke on the need of Under Trial Prisoners (UTP) Cell as Zunheboto is the only district without such facilities. General Secretary, SKK, Vikai stressed on the dilapidated Government High Schools in the district and seek more help from the government for infrastructure and shortage of teachers.
The chairman in his concluding remark asked every officer to value oneself and be honest in their duties and responsibilities. Department of Forest, Environment and Climate Change and Education Department will present a power point presentation in the next meeting.
Pughoboto Sub-Division
The monthly meeting of the Pughoboto Sub-Division Planning Board was held on June 7 presided by the additional deputy commissioner (ADC) and vice chairman of the board, Avelu Ruho. The meeting was conducted in Pughoboto’s Customary Court hall. The ADC reviewed the last meeting minutes and thanked all the officers who had actively participated during the tree plantation drive.
The president of the Sumi Aphuyemi Hoho (SAH) Inavi Swu also appraised the house on the need to accord government registration to the newly-formed organization, the ‘hoho.’
In this regard, the ADC said that the Hoho’s aims and objective will be verified and the same will be recommended to Deputy Commissioner after obtaining the necessary form from the Home department. The SDO (civil) of the area, Namang Chang, who was a member of the badminton stadium managing committee, read out the suggestions made by the committee. The house agreed to collect a certain fixed amount of money from the monthly salary and voluntary donations from the SDPDB members, sports lovers as revenue for the indoor stadium maintenances and consumption of electricity. He also said that coaching camp for under the age of 14 will be organized in the next year 2017.
The SAH president who sought support from the administration informed that the body is ready to co-operate and, if needed they assured that they would take up the problem with different political parties, factions and others.
