ZFA to host Jadonang memorial football tournament

Dimapur, Aug. 14 (EMN): The 13th Edition Jadonang memorial football tournament –cum-silver jubilee celebration of Zeliangrong Football Association (ZFA) (1995-2020) will be organised by ZFA this year.

The organising committee in an update informed that the tentative date for the tournament is fixed on October 8. The opening and closing ceremony will be held at Khuman Lampak main stadium, while the league round matches will be held at Thau sports complex, Thangmeiband, and the knock-out round matches will be played at SAI football ground, NERC Takyel, Imphal.

The champion and runners-up teams will receive cash prize of INR 2.5 lakhs and INR 1 lakh respectively along with trophies.

Other group and Individual awards include best disciplined team and best parade team, best player, best goalkeeper and highest scorer. Cash prizes of INR 20,000 and INR 10,000 each along with cup will be awarded for group team and individual players, it stated.

Every Zeliangrong village youth clubs from the states of Assam, Manipur and Nagaland are entitled to sponsor not more than one team for the tournament. Entry form will be issued from August 22 to September 17. The last date of submission of entry form is September 24. Teams willing to participate in the tournament can collect the entry form from its ZFA head office, Kakhulong, Paona Bazar, Imphal. Entry form fee is fixed at INR 1000 and the registration fee at INR 5000, it stated.
