DIMAPUR — The Zeliangrong Baudi (Assam, Manipur and Nagaland) has termed the July 12 verdict of the Tenyimi People’s Organisation (TPO) on the ‘Kezoltsa/Kozürü/Kazing’ land dispute as “unacceptable” and urged TPO to “rescind the controversial verdict” in the larger interest of TPO family.
In a press release, the ZB (AMN) stated that it is a constituent member of Tenyimi People’s Organisation since the formation of the organisation, believing in fostering the larger interest and welfare of Tenyimi people as a whole.

However, the Baudi alleged that in the recent past, it has witnessed several “negative doings” that may be termed as “deliberate exercise” in matter of handling the “Hezing/Kozürü/Kezoltsa/Kazing” case by the TPO.
“We had time and again reiterated our position that Yangkhullen village owns a major chunk of land traditionally in the disputed area but TPO failed and denied the truth,” the Baudi stated.
The Baudi also reminded that Yangkhullen (Ze-Mnui) village had submitted its position paper to include the village in the land dispute issue of “Hezing/ Kozürü/Kezoltso/Kazing” as one of the affected land owners.
“This truth is being denied either premeditatedly or intentionally,” it stated.
Pointing out that the Nagaland Zeliang People’s Organisation (NZPO) is not a constituent tribe unit of TPO, the ZB (AMN) maintained that dragging NZPO, whose jurisdiction is confined to only Nagaland state, into the issue of Manipur and include the organisation in the TPO verdict as one of the signatories, “is totally unjustifiable, unacceptable and unsustainable.”
Subsequently on July 13, the NZPO withdrew its signature on its own volition from the verdict, it stated.

“That ZB (AMN) is firm on our stand that we cannot and would not part an inch of our God-given land as a result of this misrepresented or premeditated verdict of TPO presidential council meeting of the 12th July, 2024.
“For the denial of truth, the Yangkhullen village position, the TPO shall bear responsibilities for all negative consequences as the fall out of the verdict,” the Baudi asserted.
