The youth director of Angami Baptist Church Council (ABCC), Kevilhouleü S Kehie, has underlined the need to understand the purpose and call of God by heeding to his command with unreserved heart and cautioned that the heart could mislead one when it is not ruled by God.
Kehie stated this at the 44th youth convention-cum-music fest of Pesocha Baptist Church Council (PBCC), which got underway at Nerhema Baptist Church under Kohima on Friday on theme “You are my witness.” She exhorted the youth to get rid of evils and follow Christ with dedication and commitment.
Kehie said the call of God today is to hold firm in faith and have a courageous faith that is persistent and keeping a healthy spiritual life. She further challenged the leaders to lead with love and nurture faith in order to serve better and build the kingdom of God.
An update from the PBCC youth stated that Rev. Neivilie Zuyie, PBCC president, hoisted the convention flag and dedicated the tabernacle during the inaugural programme. The programme was led by Kelhouvilie Kense, PBCC youth finance secretary, while Khedi Baptist Church presented a male voice and Chedema Baptist Church blew the trumpet to herald the beginning of convention.
Rev. Vilanyü Üsou, pastor of Nerhema Baptist Church, delivered the greetings and he expressed delight to witness the gathering of about 900 youth. Describing the youth as the greatest armour of God, he challenged them to encourage one another spiritually and make the convention and music fest as a time to re-commit their lives to Christ.
He further urged the youth to work for the lost souls.
Khrietseituonuo Chase read the scripture, while chorals were presented by Botsa Baptist Church and Meriema Baptist Church. A song was also presented by Tsiemekhuma Baptist Church.
The theme song, composed by Kezhalenuo Kesiezie and music arranged by Vikhietuonuo Rutsa, was presented by PBCC youth officer bearers. Competitions on group song and Bible recitation would be conducted on Saturday.
