Yingli College conducts workshop on poetry writing

DIMAPUR — As part of its extension service, the English department of Yingli College in Longleng conducted a one-day creative workshop on poetry writing and folktale narration at St. Joseph School on Saturday.

The programme was chaired by Nyaksham Phom of BA 5th semester, while an introductory note was delivered by Tonghon Phom, assistant professor, and poetry a recital by the students of 3rd semester who shared their original works.

A Phom folktale was narrated by Chasan, BA 5th semester, stated a DIPR report.

It stated that a question and answer session was also held where the students have asked various questions regarding creative writing and poetry.

Assistant professors of English namely Dr. Kekhriengulieü Tachü and Ketousieno Catherine facilitated the session.

It was followed with a practical session where the students brought out their creative side and participated actively.

The programme concluded with a speech delivered by Dr. AK Chowdhary, head of department, and a vote of thanks delivered by Hentong Phom, BA 1st semester.
