Yepthomi unhappy with implementation of flagship programme
Dimapur, Aug. 31 (EMN): Lone Lok Sabha MP from Nagaland, Tokheho Yepthomi, has expressed dissatisfaction with the departments for delaying the works and their inability to give specific details as well as take corrective measures in the implementation of flagship programmes.
Speaking at the district development coordination and monitoring committee (DISHA) meeting held on August 31 in the conference hall of the Commissioner of Taxes, Dimapur, Yepthomi directed the departments to seek right information and demanded effective follow-up on issues raised during the deliberations. He also appealed to the departments to ensure effective and right methods in dealing with the various schemes under each department and urged them to submit all the details latest by September.
Yepthomi apprised the members that other states are going far ahead in development sector, whereas Nagaland is still lagging behind, stated a DIPR report.
“We need to mend our ways and educate our people, otherwise there will be no development in our state,” Yepthomi said. He further urged the departments to be more sincere and responsible towards the implementation of all flagship programmes in the district.
Various departments including PHED (Rural) and PHED (Urban), DRDA, PWD (R&B), Horticulture, Education, Agriculture, Social Welfare, Food & Civil Supplies, Lead Bank, Tribal Affairs and Water Resources have highlighted their latest activities, achievements of targets of both physical and financial, coverage and performance of CSS in the district.
