Dimapur, July 1 (EMN): Deputy Chief Minister Y Patton has proposed the central government to establish a Police Officers Training College/Police Academy in order to impart quality training to police officers.

A press release from the deputy chief minister’s office on Monday informed that Patton suggested the proposal to Union Minister of State for DoNER (Independent Charge) Dr. Jitendra Singh during a meeting at the latter’s office in New Delhi on Monday.

“The training college will have all modern amenities to equip officers in dealing with scientific/cybercrimes related issues. Patton appraised the MoS for DoNER that if established, Nagaland state government can train its police officers and officers from other north-eastern states as well as IPS officers, imparting holistic modernised trainings, maintaining proper law and order,” it stated.

He requested the DoNER minister to help establish the state-of-the-art training college in Nagaland.

The deputy chief minister thanked the NDA government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, as well as Dr. Jitendra Singh, for agreeing to bear the entire cost of North East Special Infrastructure Development Scheme (NESIDS) in NE states.

During the discussion, Patton requested the DoNER minister to release the central assistance for re-building ‘totally washed away/damaged infrastructure by floods in 2017.’

According to the press release, the union minister of state assured to extend all possible help and grants to the state of Nagaland.
