WSYF condemns attempted murder of auto-rickshaw driver
DIMAPUR — The Western Sumi Youth Front (WSYF) has condemned the alleged attempted murder of one Kumghato, an auto-rickshaw driver, by two miscreants, namely Azarad Ali and Amir Hussain, on the evening of March 18.
In a press note, the WSYF stated that such nefarious acts are a matter of grave concern, which all Nagas need to take heed of.
The WSYF added that the western region, comprising three districts, has become a hotbed of frequent criminal activities with malicious intentions. It emphasised the urgency for all concerned citizens, organisations, and the administration to take the necessary steps to douse the fire “before it engulfs our land and causes havoc.”
While lauding the Chümoukedima police personnel for their swift and immediate action in apprehending the culprits, the WSYF urged the law enforcement agency to award stringent punishment fitting for a delinquent criminal.
The WSYF further urged the respective district auto drivers’ union heads to meticulously monitor the activities of registered drivers and their legitimacy, ensuring they abide by their work ethics for the safety and security of the citizens.
