DIMAPUR — As the voting for urban local bodies (ULB) drew closer, the Western Sumi Hoho (WSH) and Chakhesang Public Organisation (CPO) have jointly appeal to conduct the electoral process in a free, fair and peaceful manner.
The two organisations have emphasised the necessity to conduct the election in a transparent and democratic manner by ensuring that all candidates have equal opportunities to present their vision and engage with voters.
“We urge all candidates and party workers to refrain from any form of violence, intimidation or unethical practices that could undermine the integrity of the electoral process.
“We call upon all voters to exercise their democratic right responsibly and thoughtfully. It is crucial that voters make their decisions based on the merits and capabilities of the candidates rather than on tribal lines or affiliation. By electing leaders who are honest, competent and dedicated to serving the community, we can collectively contribute to the development and progress of our region,” the two organisations stated.
It further urged all the stakeholders to work together towards a peaceful and harmonious electoral environment, “where every voice is heard and every vote counts.”
WSYF urges to vote with respect and civility
