Dimapur, Feb. 15 (EMN): To commemorate a year-long platinum jubilee celebration, the Western Sümi Baptist Akukuhou Küqhakulu (WSBAK) organised bicycle rally in Dimapur on Tuesday on the theme ‘Pedaling miles for peace and back to bicycle.’
The bicycle rally started from Sumi Baptish Church in Chümoukedima and culminated at Sumi Baptish Akukuhou East Dimapur, Purana Bazaar, with the participation of around 700 cyclists. It was informed that 250 bicycles were donated to the participants by WSBAK along with T-shirts to all the participants.
Interacting with the media persons, WSBAK executive secretary Rev. Dr. Phughoto Sema informed that it would be organising a series of events. He stated that the bicycle rally was organised in order to promote cycling to conserve the environment and to live a healthier lifestyle through cycling.
Rev. Phughoto also informed that WSBAK would organise a motorbike rally in the month of April and celebrate Ahuna festival on November 14 for the whole of Western Sumi community in Dimapur. He further informed that the year-long platinum jubilee celebrations would culminate on December 11.
