Workshop on strengthening evaluation practices underway

DIMAPUR — A two-day workshop on ‘Strengthening evaluation practices,’ organised by NECTAR project got underway at the directorate of School Education and NBSE office in Kohima on Tuesday.

An update from School Education department informed that 147 examiners and head examiners of Classes 10 and 12 for four subjects from both government and private schools would be trained to reduce inter-rater variability and improve overall evaluation practices in the state.

It mentioned that in an effort towards enabling the shift from rote learning to higher order thinking skills (HOTS) in education, the NECTAR project is working with NBSE to strengthen evaluation practices under the exam reforms component. It added that the educational initiatives (Ei) have been taken on board by the project to implement the programme.

The workshop would conclude on October 16.
