DIMAPUR — The ANMA Integrated Development Association (AIDA)-Child Friendly Dimapur organised a one-day workshop for educators at Government High School, Darogapathar, on June 10.

The workshop, themed “mindful teachers,” featured Bokatoli, a counselling psychologist from Serendip Guardians, as the resource person, according to a press release.

It was mentioned that the workshop focused on two primary topics: understanding students better and exploring the influence of nature versus nurture on personality and intellect.

During her sessions, Bokatoli emphasised the importance of understanding students’ strengths and weaknesses and recognising each student as a unique individual. She highlighted that students remember and admire teachers based on qualities like caring nature, kindness, and helpfulness.

She encouraged educators to focus on destressing and enhancing their management skills to become more effective and diligent teachers.

Garrol Lotha, project coordinator for Child Friendly Dimapur, shared insights into the Child Friendly Cities Initiative and its aim of creating environments conducive to the well-being of children.

She also discussed the objectives of Child Friendly Dimapur and emphasised the importance of collaboration and networking in creating child-friendly cities. She highlighted the roles that educators can play in their daily lives to foster a child-friendly environment, enabling children to reach their full potential.

A total of 22 educators participated in the workshop.
