Women’s Champions Trophy 2024: Zungki Slingers, Dhansiri Titans win

DIMAPUR — Zungki Slingers defeated Dikhu Strikers by a massive 120 runs in the 3rd Edition Women’s Champions Trophy 2024 held at Sovima Cricket Ground.

An update from Nagaland Cricket Association (NCA) informed that Zungki Slingers posed 249/8 on the board, with Talirenla Pongen scoring 91 runs and took 4 wickets, for which she was awarded the Player of the Match, while Priyanka Karmakar also scored a half century (58 runs).

Jyoti Thapa, Bipila and Nitu Chettri took two wickets each for Dikhu Strikers but the opponents managed to score a huge total. Dikhu Strikers were bowled out for 129 runs, thus conceding a humiliating defeat.

In another match played at Nagaland Cricket Stadium, the Doyang Queens put up 118 runs (all out) on the board in 36.4 overs, with Radhika Mondal 39 runs, Helen Zaputou 18 and Watinaro Pongen 17.

However, the Dhansiri Titans chased down the target in 30.3 overs, scoring 119 runs for loss of 6 wickets, thanks to Alemienla’s stellar all-round performance with an unbeaten 59 runs and three wickets, which earned her the Player of the Match award. Rwisumwi Basumatari also scored 21 runs for the team.

Dhansiri Titans defeated Doyang Queens by four wickets.
