Imphal, June 29 (PTI): A 36-year-old woman was shot dead by miscreants at Kwakta Khuman in Bishenpur district, police said today. The incident happened at around 11.30 pm yesterday. The husband, who is serving as a jawan of 8 Manipur Rifles of the deceased has been detained for questioning, police said.
Police said the victim, identified as Pukhrimayum Samila, the second wife of Md Safiruddin was shot dead midnight last night at Kwakta Khuman Thongkhong, Ward Number 18 in Bishenpur district. The two have a daughter and a son. Meanwhile, a JAC has been formed and it demanded arrest of Safiruddin.
