WOKHA — As part of extended Hornbill Festival 2023, the first Wokha Winter Fiesta – Music, Eco-Tourism and Adventure 2023, organised by Team Metamorphosis, in collaboration with Department of Tourism, got underway on Thursday at Lanchuju Eryu in Doyang on the theme “Explore, Discover and Grow.” Member of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly, Jwenga Seb, who inaugurated the event as the chief guest, expressed gratitude to the organisers for making him to be part of the historic event. He said that Doyang is not only beautiful but has boundless natural resources, huge biodiversity including the roosting place of the celebrated Amur Falcon of the world.

He stated that the Winter Fiesta is an extension of the renowned Hornbill Festival to showcase the rich culture heritage of Nagaland, which is a testament to the remarkable efforts of the chief minister to promote tourism. He also added that music, eco-tourism and adventure are three integral aspects of the Hornbill Festival.

He added that music has the power to transcend boundaries and bring people together as it can heal broken relationship and evoke emotions that words cannot express. While highlighting on the importance of tourism in the state, he urged the entrepreneurs to accommodate young people in generating employment in order to solve unemployment problem.

The chairman of Team Metamorphosis, Thungdemo Kyong, on his welcome address, highlighted the purpose of event.

The event, which would include music, cultural dances and folk songs would culminate on December 13.
