Wokha farmers on exposure trip for leaf plate making
DIMAPUR — Shishoi Oshom-Entrepreneurship Task Force (ETF) Cell, District Administration, Wokha, is organising a farmer exposure trip to provide hands-on training in eco-friendly areca nut leaf plate making to young farmers from Lotsu and Bhandari villages.
According to an update, Longdiba L Sangtam, ADC Bhandari, ceremonially flagged off the farmers’ group from Bhandari, while P Pukha Lam, EAC Aitepyong, flagged off the farmers’ group from Lotsu village.
The trip is an effort by Shishoi Oshom-ETF Cell as part of its one-stop centre approach to entrepreneurship development, to provide practical skills and knowledge to the agricultural community, as well as appropriate follow-up support under the government’s credit and marketing schemes.
During the trip, the farmers will receive hands-on training in the eco-friendly areca nut leaf plate-making process in Dimapur. The training is anticipated to enhance the farmers’ livelihoods and income by enabling them to establish local leaf plate-making units in Wokha.
The initiative is supported by the NEC Project for delivering key identified services at Lotsu village and Bhandari block.
