Kohima, Nov. 14 (EMN): Lotha Baptist Church Youth Rally (LBCYR) 2018 has initiated road repair work covering 23 km from SP Office Junction to N Longidang. The road repairing work was supported by the village councils, churches and public of the eight villages of Nyiro range under Wokha district.
LBCYR convenor, Y Aben Ngullie said the road repairing works included soling and metaling were taken up in view of the forthcoming Youth Rally scheduled at N Longidang in January 2018. He also informed that the public of the eight villages have extended both physical labour and financial assistance.
The convenor lamented that ever since the construction of the road, there have been no signs of either black topping the road or maintenance from the government resulting in untold miseries faced by public of the eight villages under Nyiro range.
He said the public have taken the mammoth task in order to have a motorable road for the forthcoming youth rally. The road repairing work is expected to be completed by November 25.
Meanwhile, the organising committee has acknowledged the Executive Engineer of Road and Bridges, PWD, Er. Mhathung Kikon for allotting one JCB to carry out the works.
