[dropcap]I[/dropcap] feel it worthy citing some Bible verses for public consumption that wine or alcohol in itself is not considered detestable even in the Bible.
Psalms 104:15: “And wine that maketh glad the heart of man, and oil to make his face to shine, and bread which strengtheneth man’s heart.”
Genesis 27:28: “May God give you of heaven’s dew and of earth’s richness– an abundance of grain and new wine.”
Genesis 27:37: “And Isaac answered and said unto Esau, Behold, I have made him thy lord, and all his brethren have I given to him for servants; and with corn and wine have I sustained him: and what shall I do now unto thee, my son?”
Deuteronomy 7:13: “And he will love thee, and bless thee, and multiply thee: he will also bless the fruit of thy womb, and the fruit of thy land, thy corn, and thy wine, and thine oil, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep, in the land which he sware unto thy fathers to give thee.”Deuteronomy 33:28: “ Israel then shall dwell in safety alone: the fountain of Jacob shall be upon a land of corn and wine; also his heavens shall drop down dew.”
Chronicles 32:28: “ Storehouses also for the increase of corn, and wine, and oil; and stalls for all manner of beasts, and cotes for flocks.”
Psalms 4:7: “Thou hast put gladness in my heart, more than in the time that their corn and their wine increased.”
Proverbs 3:10: “then your barns will be filled to overflowing, and your vats will brim over with new wine.”
Ecclesiastes 10:19: “A feast is made for laughter, and wine makes life merry, but money is the answer for everything.”
Isaiah 25:6: “On this mountain the LORD Almighty will prepare a feast of rich food for all peoples, a banquet of aged wine– the best of meats and the finest of wines.”
Isaiah 55:1: “Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters; and you who have no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without cost.”
Hosea 2:22: “And the earth shall hear the corn, and the wine, and the oil; and they shall hear Jezreel.”
Joel 2:19: “Yea, the Lord will answer and say unto his people, Behold, I will send you corn, and wine, and oil, and ye shall be satisfied therewith: and I will no more make you a reproach among the heathen:”
Joel 2:24: “The threshing floors will be filled with grain; the vats will overflow with new wine and oil.”
Zechariah 9:17: “How attractive and beautiful they will be! Grain will make the young men thrive, and new wine the young women.”
