DIMAPUR— The Working Committee, Naga National Political Groups (WC-NNPG) has asked the Council of Nagalim Churches (CNC) to go through all Forum for Naga Reconciliation (FNR) co-ordinated meetings, covenants and declarations beginning from 2009, and enlighten them as to “who fiddled with the sentiment of the Naga people all these years.”
In a rejoinder to the recent statement of CNC which questioned whether the WC-NNPG had forgotten the agreements signed with the NSCN (IM) to work together for the resolution of the Naga political issue and to refrain from ‘indulging in violence of words through print and on social media,’ WC-NNPG alleged that it was the NSCN (IM) which nullified the agreements.
Admitting that WC-NNPG and NSCN (IM) in the Joint declaration of January 14, 2023 under the aegis of FNR agreed to ‘unconditionally collaborate,’ WC-NNPG however alleged that even before the ink of the agreement got dry, the NSCN (IM) in a statement issued on January 19, 2023, nullified and rejected the “document” signed by its own president.
The WC-NNPG also stated that it expects the FNR to explain why a declaration signed by N Kitovi Zhimomi, Ato Kilonser, GPRN/NSCN and Convener WC-NNPG and Q Tuccu, President and Chairman NSCN (IM), had to be thrown into the “trash bin.”
“We express our appreciation to you for inviting us in helping out the suffering people of Manipur from different ethnic backgrounds. We are doing and will continue to do our bit with whatever little and humble assistance we could for our neighbours. We assure our prayer support too as there is an evil policy at work but in the final analysis, the will of God will prevail,” the rejoinder stated.
