Water supply arrangement inaugurated for 48th KYF

Diphu, March 1 (EMN): Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council, Executive Member (EM) Pradeep Rongpi inaugurated water supply arrangement at Karbi Cultural Society (KCS) office and dining hall at Taralangso on Tuesday.

During the inauguration of the pipeline water supply, Rongpi said it is done with an aim to provide sufficient water supply in the entire area during the five day 48th Karbi Youth Festival (KYF) from March 1 to the 5th .

“Like every year the PHE department is providing sufficient water supply in all areas. This time sufficient pipeline water supply will be made available 24 hours in all artist camps for bathing, washing and cooking purposes. The artists coming to participate in the KYF from various zones have to use ponds and river water for bathing which is not hygienic, but this time there will be sufficient supply of pipeline water in all artist camps, ” he said.

The Water Supply Sub-Committee is headed by EM Rongpi as Chiarman, Convenor, Babison Engti and Executive Engineer, PHE, Diphu Rural Division, Bimal Chandra Sarma and Executive Engineer, PHE, Diphu Urban division, Bikram Teron as co-convenors.

It may be mentioned that the 48th KYF had to be deferred from the calendar date of February 15 to the 19th , due to the surge of Covid-19 variants.

The inauguration programme was attended by executive engineer, PHE, Hamren division, Toroni Rongpi and PHE officials like Mamoni Rongpharpi, Kenny Beypi; Khoya Sing Terang and others.
