LJP (Ram Vilas) candidate from 5 Ghaspani II, Kitoho S Rotokha, said the mood of the voters at present is “for change and not money.”

Addressing an election rally at Old Showuba ground on Wednesday, the LJP candidate said that while people in other countries are talking about ‘going to galaxies, Nagas are still struggling for basic amenities’ and wondered how the state can progress in the given context.

Hitting out against those leaders who make false promises, Rotokha said the people should elect a leader who is pragmatic, realistic, practical, and one who keeps his words.

He also said citizens should decide and vote for a leader who knows the ground reality of the people and the problems they are facing.

He assured that he will especially focus on youth and women empowerment if elected.

Reminding the people that they are not “essential commodities” which can be bought with money, he urged the citizens not to sell their votes.

He affirmed that he will garner votes through “conscious vote, sympathy vote, and not bought by money.”

Rotokha also stated that the LJP party leaders have assured him to carry on the responsibility of the party post election.

He further appealed to the voters to exercise their franchise as it is not only their right but their responsibility as well.

GB of Old Showuba, Mure; president of LJP 5 Ghaspani II constituency, Khezheto Rochill; Khrie Wotsa; Isawoto Shiro, GB; Viyiho Chishi, chairman and GB of Nohoto village; Hetozu Chishi, GB, and Shahoto, also addressed the rally.
