Valve celebrates CSGO’s 10th birthday with new maps, stickers and a cupcake
Valve’s most loved and iconic first-person shooter game, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CSGO), reached 10 years of existence on Wednesday.
Valve celebrated CSGO’s 10th birthday with the release of the 1.38.3.9 update, also known as the “10th Birthday update.” The new update brings new maps, anniversary sticker capsules and of course, a cupcake to commemorate the occasion.
On its Twitter page, Valve wrote, “Happy Birthday week, Counter-Strike! Today we are shipping the 10th Birthday Sticker Capsule and adding Anubis, Tuscan, and Breach and two new Wingman maps. And for this week only, players who rank up their profile will receive a limited time in-game item.”

The new update brings back Tuscan, Anubis and Breach maps to all game modes. On the other hand, Climb, Crete, Hive, and Iris maps have been removed from official matchmaking.
New Primetime and Blagai maps have also been added to CSGO’s Wingman game mode.
CSGO Prime players can also claim the 10 Year Birthday Coin (a cupcake in-game item) by leveling up their profiles. On its blog post, Valve wrote, “It wouldn’t be a birthday without some cake… specifically, a cupcake topped with a birthday coin! For the next week (until Monday, August 22nd), CS:GO players with Prime status can grab their birthday coin by earning enough XP for their first in-game drop of the week.”
In addition to the cupcake and new maps, Valve is also releasing a new collection of stickers called “10 Year Birthday Sticker Capsule.” The new sticker capsule will contain over 60 community submitted sticker designs from the CSGO community.
“The community pulled together for the 10th anniversary sticker competition, and the results speak for themselves–the 10 Year Birthday Sticker Capsule contains over 60 community submitted designs, including an all new animated ‘Lenticular’ quality,” Valve wrote in a blog post.
