DIMAPUR — The Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs has directed the Urban Development department to conduct a three-month long PM SVANidhi campaign starting from August 1 to October 31.
It has asked to create awareness among the street vendors (SV) regarding the benefits of the scheme through IEC activities such as radio, TV, regular social media post and other ground level outreach activities in the state, cities, ULB to connect more street vendors with the scheme.
The following activities have been suggested for revamping the scheme at state and city level:
1. Create awareness among the street vendors (VS) regarding the benefits of the scheme through various IEC activities such as radio, TV, regular social media post, and other ground level outreach activities in the states/ cities to connect more SVs with the scheme.
2. Organise SV ANidhi Mahotsav/ Parivar Mela, and other celebrations in select cities bringing street vendors in the mainstream and inculcating a sense of belongingness amongst them. Banks and Digital Payment Aggregators (DPAs) may also be invited to these celebrations & street vendors doing 100% digital transaction may be felicitated. The success stories of street vendors benefited under the scheme may be shared with other street vendors to motivate them for joining the scheme.
3. Organise various camps at State/UT/City level in coordination with the Banks and DPAs to mobilize new application, clear pending sanction & disbursement of loans, and promote adoption of digital transactions among SVs.
4. Create a roadmap for achieving the targets and conduct regular review meetings at senior level to achieve the revised target by December 2023.
