The union president Imtimar Jamir informed Eastern Mirror that besides the inmates, dinner was also provided to all the frontline workers as a gesture of gratitude for taking care of the inmates.

Jamir also lauded the inmates for strictly following the quarantine SOP and said their stay in the quarantine centres would ensure the safety of their family. He advised the inmates to approach the concerned authority through proper channel for redressal of their grievances instead of criticising on social media platforms.

Another official said the union initiated the project to relieve the volunteers, security personnel and other frontline workers at the quarantine centres as they are also in distress because of the workload.
