UIP review, improvement plan discussed at Kohima workshop
DIMAPUR — A workshop for the Universal Immunisation Coverage (UIP) review and the development of the immunisation coverage improvement plan was held on Wednesday at de Oriental Grand in Kohima.
The workshop aimed to ensure that every child is protected from vaccine-preventable diseases by reaching 95% full immunisation coverage, according to a press release.
On the occasion, the Immunisation Technical Support Unit (ITSU) of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare conducted a comprehensive review of the state’s UIP over the past years.
The resource persons for the event included Dr. Harpreet Singh, Dr. Kamlesh Kumar, Dr. Sonu Gupta, Dr. Swadesh Prasad, Paras Jain, Dr. Sandeep Rathod, Dr. Mona Chopra, Ashok Sharma, Dr. Rajashree Roy, Mahesh Mishra, and Satish Kumar.
They covered various topics related to programme implementation, AEFI and VPD surveillance, logistics and supply chain, data recording and reporting, communication, and urban immunisation.
The workshop concluded with a group work presentation.
