Two villages resolve not to demand compensation

Dimapur, Oct. 30 (EMN): Okotso village and Mangmetong A Khel Pudu Menden have resolved not to demand compensation for developmental works within their respective jurisdiction particularly along Doyang to Mangmetong road construction under PMGSY.

The resolution to this effect was taken during the triennial meeting of the two villages held on October 28 at Okotso community hall. A press release jointly issued by the chairman of Okotso village council, Thechamo Ngullie, and the sessional secretary, Lima Wati, stated that the two villages have resolved to organise a mass social work for repairing of Mangmetong–Okotso stretch of PWD road.

During the meeting, TL Merry and Dr. I Lolen Imchen have lauded the legacy of the forefathers and exhorted the two villages to preserve the gift.

It mentioned that the Okotso village and Mangmetong A Khel Pudu Menden triennial meet has been in practice over the years as introduced by their pioneers.

The meeting was chaired by Benthungo Murry, VDB secretary of Okotso, while an invocation was said by Rev. OY Ngullie, pastor of Okotso Baptist Church, and the welcome address was delivered by Thechamo Ngullie.

A song was presented by Erenbeni Ngullie and friends and cultural item was presened by Nrimimo Ngullie and friends. The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Sulanthung Ngulie and the benediction by Ezanthung Ngullie, associate pastor of AG Church, Okotso village.

Meanwhile, it informed that the next triennial meeting would be held in Mangmetong village in 2025.
