Two-lane road from Kohima to Jessami via Pfutsero to start next month

Kohima, Nov. 20 (EMN): Minister for Planning and Co-ordination, Land Revenue and Parliamentary Affairs, Neiba Kronu on Friday said that construction work for two-lane road connecting Kohima and Jessami via Pfutsero will start by December.
He also informed that the road projects for Phek to Chozuba and Lozaphuhu to Avangkhu bordering Myanmar have been approved.
The minister was speaking as special guest during the silver jubilee celebration of Chakhesang Youth Front (CYF) held at Phek on Friday.
He informed that the DPR for Power project along Tizu valley, which has potential for 24 MW, is being prepared.
With approval of these road projects in Phek district, it would soon become one of the best roads in Nagaland, Kronu said.
Once these roads are completed, it will boost the economy of the people, said the minister while adding that Phek district can do well in agricultural activities.
He also assured of marketing linkages for farmers to sell their produces outside the district.
The minister sought public co-operation for the success of developmental activities in the district.
