Tuensang prepared for reopening of schools, awaits NBSE survey directives
Dimapur, Nov. 7 (EMN): The District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) Tuensang discussed various issues, including the reopening of schools, at its meeting held at DC’s conference hall Tuensang on Friday.
The meeting was chaired by Kumar Ramnikant, DC and Vice Chairman of DPDB Tuensang, and update from DIPR informed. The House discussed on the Covid-19 present scenario ad the DC enquired about office attendance and functioning of the respective departments of the district.
While discussing about the reopening of schools, the ADEO Tuensang stated that “the department is all preparing but will depend on the NBSE survey directives”. She also highlighted all the ongoing exercises in the department like online classes and exams as well as partial classes being conducted for classes 9 and 10, which she described “the outcome is too small”.
The ADEO also highlighted the “factors that are hampering the ongoing processes like slow internet connectivity and infrastructures for segregation of the pupils inside the class”.
IRCS agenda on enrolment of officers of the district was also discussed and reaffirmed that the DPDB members be a member IRCS. Chingmak Chang, Executive Engineers Water Resources, Tuensang, was conferred a lifetime officer member of IRCS of the District, the updated informed.
While discussing about the dilapidated condition of NH 202, the EE NH Tuensang responded that restoration works are on and department workforce are stationed at three different places. He also informed the House that NH 202 will be taken over by NHIDCL at the earliest, which said “may be good sign for the improvement of the road”.
Other members of the board also opined that the deplorable road condition needs major work, including widening and new bridges, saying that only repairing would not solve it. The NH department Tuensang was asked to furnish the details of the roads and bridges within NH 202 so that DP&DB may forward to the competent authority for the early bailout of the situation.
The house also discussed on the random parking vehicles at the road and traffic diversions within the town and decided to set up a committee comprising District Administration, Town Council, Transport, Police and All Ward Union to review the matter.
