Tuensang and Kuthur villages make peace

Making peace, the Tuensang Village Citizens Union and Kuthur Village Council in presence of Tuensang district administration led by DC Tuensang T Mhabemo Yanthan today withdrew their respective press statements carried in local dailies recently in the interest of peace, tranquility and peaceful co-existence of various tribes in the district.
Informing this, Tuensang Village Citizens Union, Kuthur Village Council and DC Tuensang, in a joint release, said there was every likelihood of the situation turning volatile and disturbing peace in the district due to the press releases issued by the two villages. The ENPO and ENSF also appealed to both the conflicting parties to withdraw their statements.
Meanwhile, the ENPO has appreciated the tribal presidents of frontal organizations and district administration of Tuensang for their initiative to defuse the tension between the two villages. It also expressed gratitude to both the village councils for abiding by the decision arrived at during the meeting convened in this connection and asked to nullify the press statements pertaining to the issue.
A release issued by ENPO president Chingmak Chang and vice president C Sashi Nasa today also said publication of any article over the issue will not be compromised in the interest of peaceful co-existence and directed both the parties for strict compliance with the directive once and for all.
