Dimapur, Sep. 22 (EMN): A truck driver was reportedly ‘shot’ dead outside the IMC Hall at Fellowship Colony in Dimapur early on September 22.
A source, who works in the same area, informed Eastern Mirror that upon reaching his workplace around 6 am, the police were already at the scene of the crime.
He said that the deceased was from Guwahati and had come with his truck to a cement warehouse near the IMC Hall.
According to the source, the deceased might have had an altercation just before entering the warehouse as the gatekeepers of the warehouse were not aware he was there.
“Usually he would have blown the horn of the truck to open the warehouse gates but the gatekeepers did not hear anything. The neighbours and residents also did not hear any gunshot,” the source said adding that the deceased had a metal bar next to his hand, which hinted at a probable altercation before his death.
It was informed that police are still investigating the matter and the body sent for post-mortem.
