DIMAPUR — In preparation for the upcoming counting for the 18th general election to the Lok Sabha, the first phase of training for all counting supervisors, counting assistants, and micro-observers from 41 A/C to 48 A/C and 55 A/C under Mon district was conducted on Wednesday at council hall, Mon town.
According to a DIPR report, ADC Mon, K Temjennaro Longkumer, during the training, explained the roles and responsibilities of the counting officials. He stated that even though there was zero voting in the district, everything would be done according to procedure.
She encouraged them to understand each other’s roles and to perform their duties professionally for the successful conduct of the counting of votes. She also mentioned that randomisation will be done for counting officials by picking notes.
District-level master trainers explained the counting procedure and demonstrated how to operate the control unit and voter verifiable paper audit trail (VVPAT) machines.
